Unconsciously at first and then very consciously, language and it's various nuances and forms have been an integral part of my personal and professional life. From devouring books as a child to opting to study Literature to becoming a media and communications professional, my love affair with English language and literature has been colourful. I have taught ESL (English as a 2nd language) to Mexican children at school and to Russian immigrants in an senior citizen's home in California. It is when you actually get down to basics and work with the building blocks of the language that you realize how intricate its patterns that you've taken for granted all along actually are. One of the most memorable experiences of my work life has been working at The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis - The US's largest literary center (and the inspiration behind the name of this blog). I also had the chance to take a couple of creative writing courses there. Interacting with authors and helping in organizing literary seminars instilled the discipline of delving into the actual process of writing.
This blog is a tribute to the sheer art form that is writing.
Happy Reading!!
